For Great or Small
by Margaret Loyd Rockwood
Of misty morn and silent glen,
The distant chirping of a wren,
Untrodden path of mossy green,
And hidden creatures all unseen.
Of rippling brook and waterfall,
And earthy smell of trees so tall,
The dew in droplets lying still,
And shadows on a distant hill.
To touch the life, to smell and feel
Then under canopy to kneel
And there give thanks for great and small
And to our God, who made it all.
